Summary

This therapy includes management of different disease conditions through internal medicines and therapeutic Ayurveda such as Shirodhara, Sirovasti, Nasyam, Pizhichil and Pichu, equilibrium between the doshas is brought back. The aim of this therapy is to treat the disabilities by following strict and healthy diet chart and healing supplements. Yoga and meditation further help system to revitalize and heal.

Vrindavan Cottages

In the precincts of the Yogashala and Ayurvedic Wellness Center, these charming communal cottages are a perfect retreat for visiting groups of guests. The first offers open sky courtyards and 10 rooms across two floors. The second cottage has two rooms with dreamy terraces overlooking the hills and forests, perfect for meditation. The third offers a single room for those who like their solitude. It also houses a beautiful covered terrace, a quiet space to read, meditate and chant peacefully.

Barsana Cottages

Silhouetted by the mountain ranges of Sahyadris and the legendary fort of medieval times, the beautiful private cottages at the Ecovillage are a dreamer’s escape, which spells a great comfort. With attached bathrooms and toilets, these two storied cottages are each elegantly appointed with two living rooms and a kitchen. Besides this, each floor has a covered patio or balcony to assure an unhampered view of the foothills of the Kohoj mountain.

Madhuvan Cottages

Madhuvan Cottages, a new addition at the Govardhan Ecovillage are set in lush green forest areas of the retreat. Each luxury tent accommodates two with a personal writing desk, a private wardrobe and an attached shower room with independent cabinet shelves for each person sharing the space. With pine wood interiors, each of the bed comes with a canopy that allows privacy within each of the living space. These cottages are air-conditioned for the summer months and heated for winters.

Gokul

A Gokul is a small private room with one bed and shared bath. They include a ceiling fan, a desk with chair, electric tea kettle, a closet with hangers, and a small room heater. Bed linens, pillow, blanket, and towels are provided. A hall bath located in each area is shared by guests – averaging 2 people per bathroom. We make every effort to house guests in single gender dorm areas; however, depending upon enrollment, some areas may be coed.

Dr. Sreejith Ayyappath

Renowned Ayurveda expert Dr. Sreejith Ayyappath B.A.M.S, M.D [Ay.] is a holistic health practitioner specialized in all types of Ayurveda treatments. Born into a traditional Hindu family in Palakkad district of Kerala, Dr. Ayyappath had a special inclination towards this holistic system after he was introduced to studying the traditional Indian healing called Ayurveda, after which he went on to master this art..

Specialized in Panchkarma, traditional Kerala Nadi-pariksha techniques and special Kerala treatments, Dr. Ayyappath aims to carry the legacy left behind by the Late Dr. Sanjay Pisharodhi and inculcate the same principles in Govardhan Ayurveda laid down by his predecessor. Leading a full-fledged team of Ayurveda Doctors, Dr. Ayyappath wishes to make Govardhan Ecovillage an ideal home away from home for Ayurveda followers.

Dr. Sudheesh Krishnan

Dr. Sudheesh Krishnan studied Ayurvedic science from Nangelil Ayurveda Medical College, Ernakulam, Kerala. After completing studies, he did Internship Training in National Research Institute for Panchakarma from where he studied all Panchakarma Therapies as well as special Keraleeya Panchakarma Treatments.

Later, he also got special training in Jalookavacharana (LEECH THERAPY), Raktha Moksha (Blood Letting Therapy), Agni Karma (CAUTERISATION THERAPY) etc. Dr. Sudheesh had an outstanding academic career. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he also did special course on Keraleeya Panchakarma Therapy from renowned Ayurveda Centre In Kerala, Vaidhyaratnam Ayurveda Foundation, Thrissur. He has also worked In Kerala Ayurveda Hyderabad Branch and in Nuayurveda Clinic, Mumbai.

Dr. Rajshree Deshmukh

Dr. Rajshree completed BAMS in Ayurveda from Seva Sangh’s Ayurved college, Ganeshwadi, Panchavati, Nasik, Maharashtra. After that she did PGDHHM (hospital and healthcare management) at Symbiosis, Pune .

After completing her education, she worked as a Medical officer for seven years in the government sector wherein she handled many emergencies, was part of the team that successfully conducted many deliveries and did some field work as well. She met Dr. Sanjay Pisharodi (HG Shyamvallabh Prabhu) who was MD of Govardhan Ayurveda; and was inspired by his studies, interest and dedication towards Ayurveda and decided to join him at Govardhan Ayurveda. Dr. Rajshree has a strong belief in Panchakarma therapy and feels that it can cure the patients from all the diseases if applied in a proper way and provided the patients abide to all the requirements religiously.

Dr Srikanth Chakrala

Dr Srikanth Chakrala (Srivallabha Das) has been an Ayurvedic practitioner for over 16 years now. Nurturing a desire for serving the society through holistic health care right from his childhood, Dr Chakrala pursued his BAMS & MD (Ayur) from Dr NTR University of Health Sciences.

His expertise is in the field of Dravya Guna (Ayurvedic Pharmacology) which involves identification of herbal plants and formulation of disease-specific medicines. He was personally mentored by Late Dr. Sanjay Pisharodhi, world renowned Ayurvedic doctor and author of a commentary on Acharya Vagbhata’s Ashtanga Hrdayam. With a view to deepen his understanding of Panchakarma for modern lifestyle related diseases, he had also undergone training in Vaidyaratnam (Thrissur, Kerala) in the ashtavaidyan tradition of Panchakarma.

Dr. Sasikumar Nechiyil

Dr. Sasikumar Nechiyil. B.A.M.S, M.D [Ay.] has played a key role for leading all the institutions of Nechiyil. After taking degree B.A.M.S from Kottakkal Ayurveda College. He completed post-graduation M.D [Ay.] from Jamnagar Ayurved University in Rasasastra. He is the disciple of Late. Krishnankutty Vaidyar, Kannankulangara who was an authority of Rasasastra and Sidha system.

He got guidance from Late. Abu Vaidyar, Ferok, who was well known for Sidha treatment and Visha chikitsa [Toxicology including snake bite treatment]. Dr. Sasikumar Nechiyil has mentored both Late. Dr. Sanjay Pisharodi and Dr. Sreejith Ayyappath in their quest to become Ayurveda Experts. He has been a part of Govardhan Ayurveda since the time of Dr. Pisharodi and now visits the Centre regularly as a Consultant to offer his expertise to the patients.

Meals

Govardhan Ayurveda provides sanctified sattvic vegetarian food for the patients. The food is completely prepared under the supervision of Ayurvedic doctors and using some of our home-grown vegetables and some from the nearby farms. Our menu of fresh sattvic dishes support self-healing of the body, enhances detoxification and leaves you feeling healthy and rejuvenated.

Govardhan Ayurveda Centre is located at the beautiful Govardhan Ecovillage in Wada, Dist: Palghar, Maharashtra, India. Built by HH Radhanath Swami, Govardhan Ecovillage is a sustainable farming community incorporating the principle of simple living and high thinking. Recognized by UNWTO award, the Ecovillage is a lush green 85-acre campus which also includes an Ayurveda centre, swimming pool, beautiful temples, vegan kitchen facilities, organic farming and many other facilities.

The Ecovillage supports development of several tribal villages around by providing employment to women and free education and mid-day meals to thousands of kids. We take pride in changing the world around us by making it more sustainable and eco-friendlier, spreading smiles and transforming lives.

How to Get There?

By Road
From Mumbai Govardhan Ecovillage is well connected by road from Mumbai, India’s financial capital. We are about 60 miles from Mumbai international airport. It takes between 1.5 – 2.5 hours to reach us along the Mumbai- Ahmedabad expressway.

By Train
The nearest railway station is Palghar Railway station which is 22 miles from the Govardhan Ecovillage. From there you can hire a cab or a State Transport Bus to reach the Ecovillage.

By Air
The nearest airport is Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport which is 60 miles from Govardhan Ecovillage. Visitors can hire pre-paid taxis from the Airport directly to Govardhan Ecovillage and travel along the route described above. We do recommend arranging a car with one of our preferred drivers as they are trusted and aware of the route and will not get lost, as our location is outside Mumbai city.
