Rasasastra is the ancient branch of wisdom which explains the theory and practise of chemotherapeutics in Ayurveda. It is the sharp tool of Ayurvedic Physician to tackle acute and complicated diseases. Wherever the herbal therapy is handicapped to deal the situation there the Rasa drugs can be administrated with success and safety. The latest research coming up in the modern pharmaceutical field is pinpointing the importance of metal to be involved in drug design. The thought of boosting the effect of Antibiotics with silver ‘nano’ particle is an example for that.
Dr. Sasikumar Nechiyil. B.A.M.S, M.D [Ay.] has played a key role for leading all the institutions of Nechiyil. After taking degree B.A.M.S from Kottakkal Ayurveda College. He completed post-graduation M.D [Ay.] from Jamnagar Ayurved University in Rasasastra. He is the disciple of Late. Krishnankutty Vaidyar, Kannankulangara who was an authority of Rasasastra and Sidha system. He got guidance from Late. Abu Vaidyar, Ferok, who was well known for Sidha treatment and Visha chikitsa [Toxicology including snake bite treatment].
Dr. Sasikumar Nechiyil has mentored both Late. Dr. Sanjay Pisharodi and Dr. Sreejith Ayyappath in their quest to become Ayurveda Experts. He has been a part of Govardhan Ayurveda since the time of Dr. Pisharodi and now visits the Centre regularly as a Consultant to offer his expertise to the patients. Govardhan Ayurveda takes immense pleasure from the guidance of Dr. Sasikumar as it would benefit the Centre a lot on the long term in its pursuit of becoming one of the top Ayurveda Centres in India in the near future.
Dr Srikanth Chakrala
Dr Srikanth Chakrala (Srivallabha Das) has been an Ayurvedic practitioner for over 16 years now. Nurturing a desire for serving the society through holistic health care right from his childhood, Dr Chakrala pursued his BAMS & MD (Ayur) from Dr NTR University of Health Sciences. His expertise is in the field of Dravya Guna (Ayurvedic Pharmacology) which involves identification of herbal plants and formulation of disease-specific medicines.
Having spent the next 8 years in various Keraliya Panchakarma institutes, he then pursued an active academic career for another 5 years teaching BAMS students. While pursuing his passion of Ayurveda, Dr Chakrala discovered his new-found interest in spiritual sciences and started experimenting with a holistic wellness methodology based on integrating Spiritual and Ayurvedic techniques. With a view to realize this goal, he joined the Govardhan Ayurveda team in 2015.
He was also personally mentored by Late Dr. Sanjay Pisharodhi, world renowned Ayurvedic doctor and author of a commentary on Acharya Vagbhata’s Ashtanga Hrdayam. With a view to deepen his understanding of Panchakarma for modern lifestyle related diseases, he had also undergone training in Vaidyaratnam (Thrissur, Kerala) in the ashtavaidyan tradition of Panchakarma. As an expert Ayurvedic practitioner and a dedicated Spiritual seeker, Dr. Chakrala believes that holistic wellness includes take care of the body, the mind and the soul.
Dr. Sudheesh Krishnan
Dr. Sudheesh Krishnan studied Ayurvedic science from Nangelil Ayurveda Medical College, Ernakulam, Kerala. After completing studies, he did Internship Training in National Research Institute for Panchakarma from where he studied all Panchakarma Therapies as well as special Keraleeya Panchakarma Treatments. Later, he also got special training in Jalookavacharana (LEECH THERAPY), Raktha Moksha (Blood Letting Therapy), Agni Karma (CAUTERISATION THERAPY) etc.
Dr. Sudheesh had an outstanding academic career. After completing his Bachelor’s degree, he also did special course on Keraleeya Panchakarma Therapy from renowned Ayurveda Centre In Kerala, Vaidhyaratnam Ayurveda Foundation, Thrissur. He has also worked In Kerala Ayurveda Hyderabad Branch and in Nuayurveda Clinic, Mumbai.
Dr. Rajshree Deshmukh
Dr. Rajshree completed BAMS in Ayurveda from Seva Sangh’s Ayurved college, Ganeshwadi, Panchavati, Nasik, Maharashtra. After that she did PGDHHM (hospital and healthcare management) at Symbiosis, Pune. After completing her education, she worked as a Medical officer for seven years in the government sector wherein she handled many emergencies, was part of the team that successfully conducted many deliveries and did some field work as well.
To get more knowledge of Ayurveda she then underwent Panchkarma Training at Ayurgreen, Mapusa, Goa. The zest to work with the best then took her towards the Himalayas wherein she took training from Patanjali in Haridwar and later worked in Patanjali Chikitsalaya in Caranzalem, Panaji, Goa. To gain mastery over Panchakarma therapy Dr. Rajshree again underwent training at Vaidyaratnam (Thrissur, Kerala) from Ashtavaidya Tradition.
Later, she came in contact with Dr.Sanjay Pisharodi (HG Shyamvallabh Prabhu) who was MD of Govardhan Ayurveda; and was inspired by his studies, interest and dedication towards Ayurveda and decided to join him at Govardhan Ayurveda. Dr. Rajshree has a strong belief in Panchakarma therapy and feels that it can cure the patients from all the diseases if applied in a proper way and provided the patients abide to all the requirements religiously. She has been a part of the Govardhan Ayurveda team of Doctors in GEV for a considerable amount of time and is quite happy to continue the legacy which Dr.Sanjay has left behind.
Dr. Ashok Shetty
With a Postgraduate degree in MD (Skin) from the reputed Grant Medical College, Sir JJ Group of Hospitals. He is a Consultant Dermatologist and former Deputy Director (Medical services) at Bhaktivedanta Hospital. Dr. Ashok Shetty currently oversees community health, is the Admin Director at Govardhan Ayurveda, heads the administrative operations and welfare at Govardhan Eco Village.
Nimai Lila Das
Mr. Nimai Lila Das, Chief Sustainability Officer, ISKCON Govardhan Ecovillage graduated from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2007. After working with Tata Motors and L&T, he joined the Govardhan Ecovillage(GEV) to enhance its sustainability initiatives. He has played an instrumental role in expanding the Ecovillage's role in the fields of Water Conservation, Waste Management, Alternative Energy, Green Buildings, Rural development, Geotourism and Global Outreach.
ISKCON Govardhan Eco Village today is a multi-award winning model eco-community showcasing some of the best practices in all the above fields. He has authored many technical papers on sustainability and is a regular speaker at various distinguished conferences. In 2015 he was invited to “The Emerging Leaders Climate Change Convergence” in Rome, Italy along with 100 other delegates from world over. Last year he was voted among the Most Influential Sustainability Leaders in India. In the last few years Mr. Das has been focusing on transforming the ecovillage into an international destination for learning. Blending the concepts of traditional learning systems with modern teaching techniques Govardhan Ecovillage’s novel educational activities are designed to cater to people of diverse ages and backgrounds. Mr. Das oversees the activities of the Govardhan School of Yoga in the capacity of a Dean and his areas of expertise include Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras and Meditation techniques. He is also the core faulty in the Bhaktivedanta Vidyapitham, a Vedic seminary at GEV that aims to find ancient approachs to modern day issues. He is an avid reader and is actively involved in conducting various workshops on sustainable living and life-skills development for students and professionals.
Rakesh Panda is a graduate from IIT Kharagpur – one of the top engineering institution in India. He joined as a senior scientist at the same institute in the field of molecular biology. He has been a faculty for college graduates across India for the last 5 years, giving motivational speeches in different educational organisations.
Currently, he is a program director at Govardhan Ecovillage, an UN award-winning retreat center and wisdom village. He travels abroad to present environmental sustainability initiatives at universities, like Yale, Princeton, UPITT etc. He is the Executive Head of SOS
Diego França has graduated in Biological Sciences from Integrated Regional University in Brazil. He is specialized in restoration of degraded areas through Agroflorestry Systems (food forest), waste management, wastewater treatment, bioconstruction, low impact technologies and rescue of ancestral knowledge.
In Brazil, he acts in projects to reduce environmental of events and as a researcher and educator in the area of agroecology and sustainability. He manages one of the largest urban spaces of permaculture and agroforestry in Brazil. He has theoretical and practical knowledge in the areas of biodynamic/natural/organic/syntropic agriculture, aquaponic systems, bikemachines, ecological landscaping, live feeding, beekeeping and meliponic culture, bamboo, botany, carpentry, organic waste composting, food preserving and processing, creole seed conservation and replication, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, computing, carpentry, mechanics and unconventional food plants.
Iris Kühnlein has a BA of honors in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Maastricht University (Netherlands) and was awarded with distinction a MA in Environment and Sustainable Development from University College London (UK). She is a Sustainability Specialist and Faculty Member of the Govardhan School of Sustainability.
Iris Kühnlein specialized in sustainable urban planning in developing countries and has worked with sustainability across different fields: the urban and rural, academia and practice. In Brazil, she worked with sustainable extractivism projects of non-timber forest products, urban agriculture and has been involved with green economy movements, being a representative of farmer's cooperatives and board member of two city councils. Besides her work at the societal level, she is also interested in herbalism and has started her own natural cosmetics brand. Passionate about the transition towards low impact lifestyles, she manages internal sustainability practices at Govardhan Ecovillage and is also developing different ecofriendly products.
Anmol is exposed to fitness & sports since childhood. He took up various courses along with Teachers Training at Yoga Vidya Gurukul, especially to explore the importance of Yogic practice in different sports. Anmol believes that yoga is all about challenging your limits and reaching new stages of physical and mental strength. He has a unique dynamic way of teaching yogic practices with a big smile & positive attitude. It is more to be experienced than explained! Students stay inspired even during intensive training due to his joyful nature & sense of humor.He has stayed and completed his classical & advance yoga training under the great teachers from traditional set-up of Sivananda Ashram, Kerala.
Anmol’s further training in Ashtanga Yoga, Mysore made him discover an exclusive approach to bring together the traditional practices of the east with modern yoga techniques. Anmol’s special interests are reflected through his teachings in anatomy, alignment & adjustments in technique classes. Anmol also took a certified training in yoga therapy which makes it easy for him to recognize an individual’s needs with respect to modifications, variations and pose-adaptions in the classroom.
His Yoga practice certainly extends off the mat as a compassion for all forms of life. It is very easy to understand Anmol’s spontaneous love and care for animals as you may quite often spot him around animal shelter at Ecovillage! At Govardhan Ecovillage, Anmol conducts Asana & Pranayama Yoga classes, technique classes & continues his spiritual practices with Vaishnava Tradition.
Aarti is an eternal student, a preacher of traditional yoga who holds a Master’s Degree in ‘Yog-Shastra’. She is also a QCI certified Level II Yoga Teacher under Government of India-AYUSH Ministry. Aarti’s first acquaintance with Yoga came at quite a young age with Yoga Vidya Gurukul, Nashik (Swami Satyananda lineage-Bihar School of Yoga) where she enrolled for Pranayama course, after which she had a longing to deepen her knowledge, especially in ancient, scriptural & traditional practices of Yoga.
So further, she took up the basic course in the same mentioned school (YVG, Nashik) & finished all the levels up to Yoga Pandit, now with more than 8 years of wide variety of teaching experience, conducting seminars & workshops for all age groups. Aarti believes that whether one is in the role of teaching or practicing, Yoga is about continuous learning and growing and with this faith she has traveled to various ashrams like Sivananda Ashram for advanced trainings, Mysore for Ashtanga Vinyasa, and specialized certification in pre-postnatal yoga from Yog Vidya Gurukul.
In her teaching experience, she came across various inspirational stories of healing through yoga and thus she took a dedicated training in Yoga Therapy to bring focus into new and wider perspective of health and wellness. Back at Govardhan Ecovillage, she continues her Yoga teachings, practices, personal sadhana & study of Bhagavad Gita in the Vaishnava Tradition. Aarti’s motto is to find true happiness by taking yoga practice off the mat as well!

This is a Spiritual Retreat Center, please respect the sanctity of the place.
All meals are vegetarian (no onion, garlic, mushrooms or meat served). Special requests (Jain/Vegan) or Diet restrictions has to be intimated in advance. GEV is not obligated to fulfil all requests.
GEV can deny the confirmed reservation on Arrival.
Being an environment friendly farm, we do not allow motorized vehicles inside the campus. We encourage our guests to walk around.
Personal Vehicles are not allowed beyond the security check post.
Visitors are required to wear the “Wrist Band” all time and showcase it when, if required.
Consumption , possession any of these product is strictly prohibited inside the campus - meat, fish, eggs, tobacco, alcohol, non-veg, caffeine and other illegal contra band items / products etc.
No food and/or beverage of any kind will be permitted to be brought into the Retreat Centre.
Do not deface any walls, carvings stone canopies (chattries) of temple and Yamuna River Ghats by writing, carving names etc.
Do not feed any outside food stuff to cows/horses etc. Please don’t throw any food stuff for fish in the Yamuna River.
Do not pluck any flowers, fruits from the trees or damage them.
Dress respectfully (no tank-tops, short, tight or revealing clothing, etc.
Carry necessary items as per season like hats, rain coats, umbrellas, warm clothes, torchlight, batteries, and personal water bottles to fill and carry around, swimming costumes, any specific medicines needed.
GEV is a Plastic free zone, help us to keep the premises clean. Place the trash into the respective bins as indicated. (Wet & Dry). GEV has a no littering policy, the claim of littering rests solely on authority of GEV. A penalty may be imposed.
GEV is a Silent Zone post Sunset, be conscious and respectful to other guests, staff members and facilities at GEV. Don’t make a scene, loud noises or any action that disrupts the serenity at GEV
Please take care of your belongings, GEV management is not responsible if lost or damaged.
Please cooperate with security protocols, you may be frisked and your luggage would be checked, if needed.
Some Zones are strictly bare foot, respect the norms.
Pets are not allowed.
During Ekadashi (11th day of waning or waxing Moon) we serve non-grain meals.
