Unavailability of general health care has been the culprit for many people in the rural villages to lead a life full of pain! Lack of timely health care has ensured even a minor health issue to become a major hurdle in leading a happy and content life.
Through this initiative , we have successfully reached nearly 60,000 rural patients. Services such as general OPD and IPD are provided. Specialist services for ophthalmology and dentistry are made available to the community at nominal charges. General health check-up camps are also organized for the community and patients are referred to healthcare centers for treatment
Access to primary healthcare services is very crucial for community good health but residents of Palghar face issues accessing basic healthcare facilities due to the lack of public healthcare infrastructure in these rural areas. We at Govardhan Ecovillage are trying our best to provide easy access to basic healthcare in rural areas as well as treatments of common health issues by setting up community health centres in the rural areas of Palghar district. Inaccessible or remote areas are being served by mobile healthcare units which are well equipped to deal with common diseases faced by the vulnerable demographic.
Rural health care is important to control the spread of diseases and reduce the growing rates of mortality due to inadequate health facilities. Special attention needs to be given to the rural health services infrastructure to ensure that rural residents do not suffer due to lack of timely diagnosis and care. At Govardhan, we ensure that residents have access to adequate healthcare facilities for free, sponsored and subsidized by our patrons.
Rural areas in India have had the highest rates of premature deaths due to the lack of proper health facilities in rural areas. Govardhan Ecovillage's healthcare initiative pursues multifaceted strategies to improve care availability, accessibility, and affordability. General OPD and IPD, specialist services for Dentistry, and Ophthalmology are available at nominal charges and have proven to be the first line of defence in the community healthcare system.
The primary struggles are those against contagious infection and waterborne diseases which are easily preventable by better hygiene. Many children and adults suffer from Diarrhoea, Amoebiasis, Malaria, Tuberculosis and a range of other infections. Menstrual health and UTIs are also a major cause of mortality. We take a two pronged approach of raising awareness on hygiene and regular treatment drives to keep the population healthy and safe.
