Skill Development programme is motivated to foster social entrepreneurship to address the requirements at grass roots level through innovative methods, thereby creating a confident youth skilled to handle self-employment as well are tertiary level employers.
This has created the possibility for the rural children to pursue higher education or find gainful employment and thus build a strong foundation for the future of these children and alleviate themselves out of poverty. Govardhan Ecovillage functions on a grass-roots level, relying on community involvement and the support of innumerable volunteers and donors. Specialised focus training areas
On demand side, a skill gap study has been conducted by National Skill development Cooperation in 2014, which indicates that there is an additional net requirement of 11.92 crore skilled manpower in twenty four key sectors by 2022
Total new entrants which needs to be skilled 119.5 million.
The BhaktiVedanta Kaushal Vikas Kendra(BKVK) is a centre that caters to the various skilling needs of the youth. It offers a Diploma in Basic Rural Technology (DBRT) Courses for training in 72 agriculture related skills, home and health, energy and environment and material technology.
BKVK is also affiliated with Vigyan Ashram at Pabal, under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
Key objectives of BKVK are:
