Energy Conservation

GEV is committed to SDG 7: “Ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.” Achievements by 2023 include a 300 KW Solar Power Plant, Solar Irrigation Pump, Biogas Plant, Electric Vehicles, and energy-efficient appliances

300 kw Solar Plant

covers 55% of GEV’s energy needs and reduce Carbon footprint by 53% (268 tonnes of CO2)

In support of UN Sustainable Development Goal 7: Affordable & Clean Energy

Solar Energy Generation

1000-1200+ average units generated per day by solar plant and excess energy is fed back to the GRID

Biogas Plants

GEV has three biogas plants with a capacity of 22 cubic meters, converting organic waste into clean energy. Two biogas plant runs on cow dung, while the third biogas (with a 2kg input capacity) is on organic matter

Three Biogas Plants - (Small to Large Scale)

Floating Drum Biogas (10 m3)

Modular/ Balloon Biogas (12 m3)

Household Vaayu Biogas (200 Litres)

Solar Irrigation

GEV has 5 open wells, with 2 open wells- water extraction is by using Solar Irrigation Pump for water extraction

Some Clean Energy/ Efficient Appliances

Only Electric Vehicles inside the Campus

Heat Pump

Brushless DC Fans

Note: All lights used inside campus for daily activities are LED.
