How long to practice yoga before taking up Yoga Teacher Training in India?
It is recommended to practice yoga long enough to familiarize yourself with the basic asanas and terminologies. You can take a Yoga Certificate Course to become a certified yoga instructor. The courses vary from 1, 3, or 5 months. A 200-hour course takes a minimum of 28 days, and it is for the people without any prior yoga certification. There are 300-hour and 500-hour yoga instructor courses too, but first, you need to complete the 200-hour course.
How can I become a certified yoga instructor in India?
The first step is to complete a 200 hours yoga training course in India. If you have 28 days to spare then you can attend Govardhan Ecovillage's residential Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) Program. Once you complete this course, you'll get yoga trainer certification and will be eligible to teach yoga. After that, you can register yourself through Yoga Alliance to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).
