SIROVASTHI AYURVEDIC TREATMENT: A PERFECT REMEDY FOR STRESS, MIGRAINE
Sirovasthi, sometimes referred to as Siro Basti, is an effective Ayurvedic treatment for nervous system disorders. The term ‘Siro’ means head and ‘Vasthi’ means container. It is highly recommended to individuals who seek strong metal and physical immunity.
The process mainly involves the application of warm herbal oils on the head of an individual for a specific period. The oil and herbs used here are boiled in a special way to optimally extract the medicinal properties. The warm medicated oil is then poured on an open-headed cap and allowed to soak into the individual’s scalp.
The Sirovasthi treatment can rejuvenate the human body by enhancing the life span of cells, improving immunity, and boosting metabolism. It is also effective in the treatment of migraine, depression, chronic headaches, and various other conditions.
Sirovasthi Ayurvedic Treatment: What’s the Procedure?
In the Sirovasthi Ayurvedic treatment, warm medicated oil is applied to the patron’s body to soothe the nerve ends and prepare for the main treatment. The medicated oil is usually a combination of ghee, milk, gingerly oil, castor oil, and herb extracts.
Now, the person is asked to sit on a wooden stool in an upright position and a ten-inch cylindrical-shaped leather cap is fitted on their head. The oil is poured onto the head for around 30-45 minutes, depending on the body type of the individual. Later, the head is wiped with a clean cotton cloth.
The same process is repeated on the head and body again and the person is given a warm body bath after the treatment. The total duration of the treatment may differ from one individual to another; it largely depends on the type of disease or condition the person is dealing with.
The treatment enables the healing properties of the oil to act on an individual’s brain and calm the central and autonomous nervous system. It helps to recover from several nerve disorders and provides relief from stress. It is also useful for patients who are recovering from a stroke.
